Julie Stevens

Working artist inspired by life's visual bounty.  Life as an artist ebbs and flows, like life, inspiration waxes and wanes, providing bursts of ideas and creation in many formats.  Julie utilizes the variety that life provides and enjoys trying different media, content, form and function.  The natural tendency toward creating art began as a kid starting with paint by numbers, drawing, creating mini books,  and expanding in high school as a variety of materials and ideas were introduced.  That fascination and desire led to college and a BFA in Fine Art from Virginia Commonwealth University with concentration in Painting and Printmaking. 

 

Since, creating has manifested in different formats, from painting to making designs for t-shirts to starting her own business printing t-shirts and making signage while living in Virginia.   At the same time, she gained interest in real estate and put her creative juices into renovating homes, seeing the transformation from old to new and refreshed life in a home. 

With interests in different mediums, techniques and content, Julie's art varies rather than utilizing the same technique on each piece of work.  In her view, Variety is the spice of Life, stay open, free and flexible.

 

Currently living in Phoenix, AZ, the desert provides a plethora of opportunity to be outside for lots of hiking, biking and exploring the abundance the desert has to offer.   Julie continues to pull inspiration from the plant life, it's creatures and variety of interesting people that keep life spicy.  She also thrives in the world of real estate as a Real Estate Consultant.
